“I’m really excited about Eclipse — we did a lot of training for that movie, like six weeks of fight training,” he told us. “It was funny because it became almost like an in-house competition and everyone was always in the gym or working out. Sometimes we’d work out like three times a day. One time, I was in my apartment and I was going down to do my workout, and the elevator doors opened and Kellan Lutz was [in there] doing push-ups. I was like, ‘Okay, Kellan, you win! You win the competition!’”

INTERVJU MED JULIA JONES
"During her intense three weeks of shooting for “Eclipse’’ last fall, Jones was exposed to the world of big-budget movies and life as a Hollywood A-lister. She was surrounded by the franchise’s big names – Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner – who, at the time, were coping with their new international fame while trying to work.
“I really am in awe of [their] ability to handle all of that,’’ Jones says. “It’s their job, and they treat it as their job. For whatever reason – and Taylor is 17 years old – they understand that. They’re so committed.’’

INTERVJU MED PETER FACINELLI
Intervju med Peter Facinelli med EW.
ET: You have a huge following on Twitter. What made you start?
Peter Facinelli: I just enjoy what Twitter is because I can really connect with the fans. It is a great way to share information with them and it is a good way to entertain. I like being able to put a smile on people’s faces and mix that up with sharing information with them. That’s important. Also, letting them know what I am doing. I have had people come to me and say, ”Will you tweet this out?” There is like paid advertisement stuff. I am not into that. I want to keep my Twitter pure. I don’t want to sell my followers anything, I want to be able to have that base, so I can tell them what I am doing and entertain them
ET: What will we learn about Dr. Carlisle Cullen in ‘Eclipse’?
Peter Facinelli: You get to see a side of Carlisle you haven’t seen before. There are some great battle sequences.
ET: Any word on ‘Breaking Dawn’?
Peter Facinelli: I don’t know. Usually, the fans know before we do.
ET: Did you ever think that ‘Twilight’ was going to do so much for your career?
Peter Facinelli: The fan base has been so phenomenal. When you go to an event, people have flown in from other countries just to take a picture with you. That is a loyal fan base that you can’t even imagine having. I am thankful for all of them. That is why I try to give back in connecting with them [on Twitter].
ET: You were filming both projects at the same time. How did you juggle?
Peter Facinelli: I have had a very crazy schedule. There was a whole month where I was shooting ‘Eclipse’ and ”Nurse Jackie” at the same time. And I actually enjoyed it because I enjoy what I do, so when I show up for work, it’s very invigorating, and I get energized by it. So there were times where I’d get off an airplane from a red-eye and have, like, three hours sleep and then go straight to work.
ET: Dr. Fitch Cooper is a different type of doctor than Carlisle. Was that part of the attraction of the role?
Peter Facinelli: It was actually really fun for me to do such contrasting roles because Carlisle is such a calming force; he’s a rock, and he’s a foundation of this family. And Coop is none of that. He runs around like he’s had four cans of Red Bull. So to be able to do those two contrasting roles where, in one character, I’m very still and the other one, he’s very energized, was a lot of fun for me.
ET: Did you wear a wig to go back and forth?
Peter Facinelli: Because I was doing both projects at the same time, I wore a wig. There were days when I was literally running hours in the forest; then, I would jump on a plane and be on the ”Nurse Jackie” set. I was going from Vancouver to New York like every three days.
ET: Is it hard to switch gears?
Peter Facinelli: For me it was invigorating. In the first two episodes of ”Nurse Jackie” [for the new season] where I was crying, it came out of me just being emotionally exhausted. It wasn’t written that I was crying. All of a sudden in the middle of the scene, I broke down and started crying. It felt right for the scene. I did takes in which I wasn’t crying. Because I had just been dumped by Jackie and there was all this heavy emotion going on, it worked for the scene. I think it was me just getting off an airplane, having three hours sleep and just being that vulnerable that it hit me that hard.
ET: How dangerous is Dr. Cooper? Is he a better doctor than we think he is? Is he a worse doctor than we think he is? Should we be scared to have doctors like him?
Peter Facinelli: The interesting thing to me is you go to hospitals or you go see your doctor, and what you see is the white coat. And so you want to believe that they have all the answers, and you want to believe that they have more knowledge, but you don’t know what they’re doing in the back room. You don’t know what their personalities are without that white coat. It was interesting because when I did ‘Twilight,’ I went and met with a doctor, and I hung out with him at the hospital. And his demeanor at the hospital was completely different than when we went and had dinner together. And so I think when Coop is with patients, he puts on a very doctorly — there’s a very doctorly side of him, and people have confidence in him. Is he a good doctor? I say it depends on what day of the week it is. He could, you know, cure you of some crazy disease that no other doctor could, or he might kill you with an ear infection. You just never know what you’re going to get with him. That’s part of the fun in playing him. But I think he tries. And I think he’s an interesting character because he also doesn’t have the confidence, so he tries to put on a persona to cover that up and tries to be overconfident at times. And Jackie (Edie Falco) just sees right through him.
ET: What kind of doctor is Carlisle?
Peter Facinelli: Carlisle is the head of the hospital. He is great because he has been around so long, he is very educated. He has a real love for humanity. People always ask me what kind of research I did to play a vampire. I said I did very little because I play a vampire who is trying to be human, who loved humanity so much that he wanted to hold on to that. When you look at something like ‘Twilight,’ the good vampires are not necessarily good; they’re eccentric. The bad vampires are just doing what they’re born to do. So for me, Carlisle is just holding on to his humanity; he doesn’t want to be a vampire.
The second season of ”Nurse Jackie” premieres Monday, March 22 on Showtime. ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ flies into theaters on June 30.

January 27, 2010
Hope your new years have all started off right. A few unrelated things:
- I’ve been very impressed with the world in general and the Twilight fansites in specific in the support and love everyone is giving Haiti. It’s amazing to see how Twilight fans have come together to help. You are wonderful people. At this point, I think it’s important for all of us to remember that the situation in Haiti is not going to be cured overnight, so… keep up the good work, and let’s all keep the Haitians in our thoughts and prayers.
- A new book recommendation: I recently read and adored The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. It was one of those books that feel absolutely perfect and satisfying, and when you finish it you sit around wishing that you could find another book just like it.
- I realized that there was an egregious oversight on my music recommendation page. How have I never listed Metric? That’s crazy. Anyway, Fantasies was one of the best albums of 2009.
- Finally, a movie recommendation: Dear John comes out Friday the fifth of February. Thanks to my cool friend Wyck (who many of you have seen in various Twilight Saga interviews, as he is one of the producers on our movies, and who is a producer on Dear John) I got to see this one early. I will confess, I cried. Also, I discovered Channing Tatum, who I’ve somehow missed until now. Likey. Lots. Amanda Seyfried is entrancing as always, and the chemistry (chemistry is always the crux of a movie for me) between them is lovely. Though the chemistry between Channing Tatum and Richard Jenkins (who plays his father) was my favorite part.
Have a great week!

KSTEW HJÄLPER OCKSÅ HAITI
While George Clooney, Robert Pattinson, and practically every other celeb in the world helped raise more than $57 Million for Haiti relief, one star was upset she couldn’t partake in the telethon last Friday: Kristen Stewart.
The Twilight babe was traveling Friday to Park City for the Sundance Film Festival, ’cause K.Stew had two films (Welcome to the Rileys and The Runaways) premiering.
But don’t think that stopped her from helping out…
At the premiere for Welcome to the Rileys, the film’s producers, Giovanni Agnelli and Scott Bloom, filled us in on Kristen’s idea of how to help raise money for Haiti.
K.Stew & Co. raised cash by hosting four lucky ladies in Park City. The fortunate four paid handsomely for the privilege of a free plane ticket, a place to stay and the pleasure of Kristen’s company.
”They paid, like, a thousand dollars a piece for tickets which went to support the cause for Haiti,” says Agnelli.
Adds Bloom:
”Kristen on the plane here said [she was upset] she could not be doing the telethon…So we decided to use all that money to benefit Haiti.”

SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL 2010
While the ”Twilight Saga” may be giving us some of the biggest blockbusters of its time, most of the series’ stars are indie actors at heart. It’s no surprise, then, that this week’s Sundance Film Festival will unveil three highly anticipated films for Twilighters: ”The Runaways,” ”Welcome to the Rileys” and ”Skateland.”
In 2010, however, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. From blockbusters to indies, quirky love stories to serious dramas, the ”Twilight” gang is branching out. With that in mind, here are the top 10 ”Twilight”-related movies of 2010 (release dates subject to change, of course). How many will you be lining up to see?
”The Runaways” (March 19)
What more can we write about this eagerly anticipated biopic covering the ’70s rockers who broke boundaries, hearts and more than a few pieces of their own equipment? Kristen Stewart rocks out alongside Dakota Fanning, Scout Taylor-Compton and Alia Shawkat, and if the trailer we premiered last month is any indication, this film could prove to the haters that KStew is a lot more than just Bella Swan. Kristen as Joan Jett? Put another dime in the jukebox, baby.
”Remember Me” (March 12)
All of Hollywood is asking one simple question these days: Can Rob Pattinson open a non-”Twilight” movie? We’ll find out soon enough, as he stars alongside Emilie de Ravin in this romantic drama that similarly involves family, tragedy and issues of eternal love — but minus the bloodsucking.
”Warrior” (TBD)
Kellan Lutz finally lands his first starring role in this indie film about a lacrosse player who reacts to his father’s death by rebelling against anything he can find — until his dad’s old Marine buddy becomes determined to straighten him out. Besides the fact that it gives ”Twilight” fans a double dose of their favorite stars, there’s something oddly fascinating about the fact that Ashley Greene plays Kellan’s girlfriend.
”Welcome to the Rileys” (TBD)
James Gandolfini is Doug, a man whose life is in shambles since his daughter was killed eight years ago. Kristen Stewart is Mallory, a 16-year-old stripper who offers him sex — but all he wants is someone to be with while he gets his head together. As Doug’s wife also comes into the equation, the couple find themselves acting as surrogate parents for the wayward teen. All reports are that it’s KStew’s most adult role yet — and we’ll learn plenty more soon enough as the Sundance reports roll in.
”Girlfriend” (TBD)
Like so many of his franchise co-stars, Jackson Rathbone will aim to bust out as a leading man in 2010. This intense indie film has Jacksper playing a man caught up in an unorthodox love triangle involving a man with Down syndrome. Jackson is providing the soundtrack through his band 100 Monkeys, and if their music is any indication this will be a film that isn’t afraid to take some risks.
”Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” (TBD)
Even if ”Twilight” star Anna Kendrick weren’t in this, it would still be one of our most anticipated films of the year. Based on the beloved Bryan Lee O’Malley graphic novels, the movie focuses on a 23-year-old slacker (Michael Cera) who falls in love with a girl (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) but has to battle her seven evil ex-boyfriends if he wants to get a chance with her. Kendrick has said the film is ”really fun” and that she spends the whole movie screaming at Michael Cera on the phone — sounds good enough for us!
”Eclipse” (June 30)
It’s the big kahuna, the top dog, the whole enchilada. And so far, virtually nothing has been released that gives us any indication of what David Slade’s ”Twilight” movie will be like. Who are we kidding? We’re there anyway.
”Valentine’s Day” (February 12)
OK, so half of Hollywood is in this movie. But the two that ”Twilight” fans will care about most are Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner — in his first post-”Saga” acting appearance. It promises to be this year’s ”He’s Just Not That Into You,” and all indications are that the Taylors have a small amount of screen time. But they spend it making out — so how can you not be curious?
”The Last Airbender” (July 2)
Now we all understand why they dropped ”Avatar” from the title. But although this M. Night Shyamalan-directed adaptation of the popular kids’ franchise might not make a billion dollars, it still seems likely to be the biggest non-”Twilight” blockbuster that any of the franchise’s alumni will be involved with this year. Jackson Rathbone stars as Sokka, a warrior who wields swords and martial arts as powerfully as Jasper Hale does that creepy stare.
”Skateland” (TBD)
Over the last few years, it’s been fascinating to watch all the ”Twilight” stars navigate their own unique paths from obscurity to ubiquity. Miss Ashley Greene has used her fashion sense and well-spoken demeanor to make the most out of her minimal screen time as Alice Cullen — and now she may be ready to take the next step with this ’80s drama about a small-town Texas skating rink. Lucky Twilighters venturing to Sundance will be able to catch a sneak peek of the flick, which should prove that Ashley is ready to take off the training wheels.

"Underneath a flattened university, Maxine Fallon waited. She was crouched in a fetal position and could barely move. In the darkness and during the hectic sounds of the day, through the pain, the hunger and thrist, she prayed that someone would find her. And on the sixth day her prayers were answered, she was found because of a text message from the rubble sent rescuers to her side. Unlike any other event in history, our world has been connected to this tragedy because of technology. Twitter updates, Facebook pages with pictures of the missing and text messages for help. TWILIGHT: THE GRAPHIC NOVEL
I’m delighted to announce, exclusively, that Yen Press will publish Twilight: The Graphic Novel, Vol. 1 on March 16, with a first printing of 350,000 copies. Here’s a first glimpse at the book’s cover, as well as an exclusive peek at one of its panels (for a full ten-page excerpt, and the entire Q&A with Stephenie Meyer, see the issue of EW that goes on sale this Friday).
What strikes me, looking at the book, is how faithfully, and how beautifully, artist Young Kim has translated Meyer’s original vision. Kim, who has a fine arts background—in fact, this is her first foray into graphic novels—didn’t just read the book; she absorbed it. Her Bella is the Bella I had in my mind’s eye the first time I read Twilight; her Edward is the Edward I always imagined. It took me back to reading Twilight pre-movie: Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson faded into the background.
Meyer talked to us about all this, and more. Here are a few snippets from our conversation:
The text of your original novel is boiled down so carefully that it doesn’t feel like anything is missing. Were you the one who did that?
I was definitely involved. I didn’t do the original “script” for the book, so to speak. But when I got the dialogue with the images, I did a lot of tinkering. In a couple of places, I asked for missing scenes to be inserted. For example, the conversation in the car that Bella and Edward have after she faints in Biology.
How does the feeling of reading the graphic novel compare to that of reading the original? Does it bring something new to the experience for you?
For me, it takes me back to the days when I was writing Twilight. It’s been a while since I was really able to read Twilight; there is so much baggage attached to that book for me now. It seems like all I can see are the mistakes in the writing. Reading Young’s version brought me back to the feeling I had when I was writing and it was just me and the characters again. I love that. I thank her for it.
When this project is done, are you done with Twilight?
I can’t say that I am done with Twilight forever. I’m not working on anything new Twilight-related now, and probably not for a while. But there’s still a possibility that I’ll go back and close some of the open doors.

What if all it took to help a charity raise $1 million was a simple online vote? Would you help then? The Center for the Pacific Asian Family hopes so, as the nonprofit competes with 99 other charities in the Chase Community Giving contest on Facebook. CPAF, which helps Asian Pacific Islanders who have been victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, has lined up some impressive supporters for its star-powered public service announcements, including actor Justin Chon from the Twilight films. Other CPAF supporters include John Cho (Star Trek), Sandra Oh (Grey’s Anatomy), Aaron Yoo (21, Disturbia), Archie Kao (CSI), Joe Hahn (Linkin Park) and Lisa Ling (Oprah).
The Chase Community Giving contest, with its social media angle and the involvement of so many celebrities, is a great way to get some attention to organizations like Center for the Pacific Asian Family, which runs a 24-hour support line, emergency and transitional shelters, and counseling services for victims and their families. All it takes to help out is a vote, whether it’s for CPAF or one of the other 99 charities. It won’t cost you a dime. Winners will be announced Saturday.
To find out more about CPAF and its mission, I shot off some questions to Chon. The queries were handed to a film crew that filmed the actor’s responses. Check out the video above for some firsthand insight into the charity as well as some Twilight: Eclipse tidbits for Twihards.
Oh, and what can moviegoers expect when The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the second sequel in the teen vampire series, hits theaters this summer? “You can expect it to be very similar to the book,” Chon said, “but there will be a lot more action, and a lot more lovin’ because … the guys are tryin’ to get with Bella.”

“If it is [split], great. If it’s not, great,” Kendrick insisted, saying it’s not that she doesn’t care, but that she has no control over the situation. “I understand why they would want to do that, but it’s not my call.
“I find out when the fans find out. That’s true,” she laughed when asked when she expects to be briefed on how “Breaking Dawn” will be shot. “You will find out before I find out, actually. Text me.”

MICHAEL SHEEN INTERVJUAR AHLEY GREENE
MICHAEL SHEEN: Okay. This is my first question. This is the only really serious one, and then the rest are quite funny. The first one is: As an elf, raised by humans, have you found a lot of discrimination against the fairy folk here in Hollywood?
ASHLEY GREENE: Well, I think they’re just jealous that I sparkle and speak elfin and have cute little pointy ears.
SHEEN: It’s true.
GREENE: So, yes, there’s discrimination. But I really don’t care.
SHEEN: You do get described as pixie-like a lot. In my younger days, I used to get described as sort of elf-like. I think it’s probably a lot easier to deal with that if you’re a pretty girl, rather than a sort of average-looking boy.
GREENE: I’m sorry about your adolescence.
SHEEN: Thank you. Well, look, let’s take a second and go back to the beginning, Ashley Greene. You grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. Is that correct?
GREENE: That is correct.
SHEEN: Now tell me about Jacksonville. What’s it like? And could you please sprinkle it with some alligator stories?
GREENE: It was great. I mean, it was great until I realized that there was more out there. I went to a public high school with a magnet program for law and psychology. But right before my junior year, I decided that I wanted to leave and become an actress, so I graduated early and moved out to L.A. Now that I’m here, I can’t imagine living there.
SHEEN: What happened? You were doing law and psychology?
GREENE: Yeah. And I loved the classes. Everything was kind of set up to go on this course, which my parents absolutely loved; they were like, “Our daughter’s going to go to law school or become a psychologist!” And then out of nowhere, I pulled the acting card on them.
SHEEN: Was it out of nowhere? What was it that started you thinking along those lines?
GREENE: I just, for lack of a better term, fell into it—which I’m sure everyone’s going to hate me for saying.

TAYLOR LAUTNER PRATAR MODE M.M
Since you gained so much muscle for New Moon, what designer fits you the best?
Lately I’ve been wearing many suits, and I love the suits by Calvin Klein collection. They look great and they’re comfortable. For shoes I like Cole Haan. When I’m dressing more casual I like Diesel. Their jeans are my favorite.
How much has your look evolved?
I’m always being told to dress up for events and special occassions, even for school. If I was going out with friends and play football, my friends would be wearing shorts and t-shirts, but I’d wear jeans and a t-shirt. I like to look cool and comfortable, but with a special twist, always. Sometimes I wear jeans and a white V-neck shirt, the next day I want to dress up and wear a nicer shirt and a nice jacket.
Do you still play football?
Yes! That’s how I like to have fun. I’ve played football all my life. I always need to have a foot ball with me. On set, I’m always carrying a ball. If I’m on a break from shooting I just throw it around and see who wants to play.
And who’s that most of the times?
Amazingly, it’s Kristen. She has a great arm and aim. I play with her and her assistant John.
Name one thing that’s in your closet that you can’t live without?
Leather jackets like this one by John Varvatos. I have like 5 or 6.
You’re very active. How do you take care of your hair?
I use KMS Hairplay and Redken paste.
Jacob has received advice from his dad. What has your dad told you?
He’s told me to save my money, and that there’s no need to spend it like crazy.
Who are your acting heroes?
As far as acting, Denzel Washington. I love Matt Damon and the Bourne series. And Christian Sltaer, I played his son in My Own Worst Enemy last year, and I haven’t seen him since the series wrapped up. But last summer when I was at the Dodger Stadium, someone touched my arm, I turned around and it was Christian. I loved seeing him. He’s an amazing guy, and one of the most professional actors I’ve ever worked with. I learned a lot from him.
Who was yout first movie crush?
Jessica Alba was my crush for the longest time. Now it’s Megan Fox. Hope I can work with her someday.
What do you love and hate about a girl?
I think a girl is at her most attractive when she’s wearing jeand and a sweatshirt, and she’s just herself. I don’t like it when they try to dress up too much. That’s why I’m not a fan of heels. I love it when they wear jeans and flats. Also when they wear those tall boots with a skirt, or a short dress.
Describe your perfect Saturday Night.
Going to dinner to a steak house. I found the best in Vancouver called Keg. I love steak. No sushi, no blue cheese, coconut, or any of that stuff for me. My coach bugs me telling me “You have to start eating more chicken! Stop eating steak”. But I can’t help it. I’m the kind of guy that’s always in the mood for red meat and hamburgers.
Aside from food, what do you think makes you a guy?
A guy has to be into sports, have friends and watch the Super Bowl together, and then take his girlfriend out and buy her clothes and jewelry.
So a guy has to be strong, but sweet. It’s like you just described Edward’s rival, Jacob.
But Edward can’t play football or turn into a wolf. Although I can’t sparkle in the sunlight…

KRISTEN STEWART NOMINERAD SOM RISING STAR
Stewart’s acting career began at the age of eight, after an agent saw her perform in her elementary school’s Christmas play. Her first major role was for the Panic Room, playing the sullen, diabetic daughter of a divorced mother (Jodie Foster).
In 2007, Stewart starred in Sean Penn’s critically acclaimed adaptation film Into the Wild. After which she had a cameo appearance in Jumper and also appeared in What Just Happened.
In November 2007, it was announced that Stewart would play Isabella ‘Bella‘ Swan in the movie Twilight, based on Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling vampire romance novel. Stewart was on the set of Adventureland, in which she plays lead character Em Lewin, when director Catherine Hardwicke visited her for an informal screen test which ”captivated” the director. After the release of Twilight, Kristen Stewart was awarded the MTV Movie Award for Best Female Performance for her portrayal as Bella Swan. Stewart reappeared as Bella in the sequel, New Moon, and will reprise this role in Eclipse.

STEPHENIE MEYER OM BREAKING DAWN
Just a quick note on the subject of the Breaking Dawn film: there is no drama over whether the book should be one movie or two. My personal feeling is that it would be very difficult to cram the whole story into one movie (as I’ve said in many interviews previous to this), but if a great way of doing that surfaces, I’m all for it. Two or one, whichever way fits the story best is fine by me, and everyone I’ve spoken with at Summit seems to feel the same way. We’re all excited to move forward on this, and we are slowly and surely getting there. I know people are anxious for news, and so sometimes gossip get fabricated to stir things up, but there’s no basis to this particular story.

RACHELLE LEFEVRE PRATAR PATTINSON M.M.
Rachelle Lefevre (aka Victoria) talks about Kevin Spacey teaching her to twitter and Robert Pattinson does indeed shower.
She said: “We got talking about Twitter and Kevin said he had 420,000 followers. I asked him if it made him nervous, if he was giving too much access. Then he gave me a 20-minute talk about why he loves doing it. He said it helps communicate with the fans, how it helps let people know what he’s doing. He sold me on it. If a two-time Academy Award winner tells you to Twitter, you Twitter.”
Talking about Twilight hunk Pattinson on an Australian talk show, Lefevre added: “It‘s been a year-and-a-half now and we’re still quashing the rumour that he doesn’t shower. He showers! Very early on when filming the first movie people stopped me in the street and said, ‘Does he shower?’
She adds, “He does. He’s lovely, the same as he was when he first started filming. He loves his music. He plays with his hair. He gets uncomfortable sometimes. He’s very normal.”
INTERVJU MED TYSON HOUSEMAN
Amanda Bell, the Twilight Examiner, had a chance to interview Tyson Houseman about the Twilight Saga.
“The relationship between myself and my cast members really did reflect the relationship of the characters, because when we filmed New Moon, I was the only character who was not yet part of the wolfpack, and so I had a different shooting schedule and different costume work and hair and make up etc. While we all became friends, I still did not get to see the rest of the guys as much as they did, and so they all had a bit more of a bonding experience than I did. Although during the filming ofEclipse, my character is part of the pack and so I got to spend a lot more time with the guys.”

What I love about the third movie is that you get to see a side of Carlisle you haven’t seen before, and what his vampire capabilities really are. There are some really great battle sequences. It’s my favorite book.
On why he loves Twitter:
I enjoy what Twitter is because I can really connect with the fans. It’s a great way to share information with the fans. And it’s a great way to entertain. I like being able to put a smile on people’s faces, and I like being able to mix that up with sharing information with them that’s important, and also let them know what I’m doing. I’ve had people come to me and say “Hey will you tweet this out?”, but I’m not into that. I like to keep my Twitter pure. I’m not going to sell my followers anything. I just want to have that fan base so I can tell them what I’m doing and entertain them.
On what Twilight has done for his career:
The fan base is just phenomenal. When you go places and you see people who flew in from other countries just to take a picture with you, that’s a loyal fan base that you can’t even imagine having. I’m thankful for all of them, and that’s why I try to give back and connect with all of them in some way.
Is Carlisle really a good doctor?:
Oh he’s great! Because Carlisle has been around for so long, I think that he’s very well educated and what I love about him is he has a real love for humanity. People always ask me what kind of research did you do to play a vampire. I say I do very little to play a vampire, because I’m playing a vampire who is trying to be human. My research is more what is it to be human. Why does he love humanity so much, that he wanted to hold on to that. When you look at something like Twilight, the good vampires aren’t necessarily good, they’re just eccentric. The bad vampires are just doing what they’re born to do and made to do. It’s kind of like domesticating a lion. For me, Carlisle is just holding on to that humanity. He doesn’t want to be a vampire.

# On taking part in both projects: I've had a very crazy schedule. There was a whole month when I was shooting Eclipse and Nurse Jackie at the same time but it's invigorating. As soon as I get on set I have so much energy. It was really fun for me to do such contrasting roles because Carlisle is such a calming force and such a rock and foundation for this family, and Coop is none of that — he runs around like he's had four cans of Red bull.

INTERVJU MED CHASKE SPENCER
ULM: [Sam Uley] is a very conflicted character, recovering after a very tormented and painful past. Was it a challenge to maintain a really emotionally draining mindset during filming?
CS: It was. It was tough because I had to separate myself from the rest of the cast, where I had to go off and find that place where I need Sam to go .. I did my research on the role and he comes from a very traumatic past. What helped me do that was [the writing of] Stephenie [Meyer] and also the director and of course a lot of music as well .. He’s a very tragic character.
ULM: What’s the biggest adjustment you’ve had to make following your involvement in New Moon [both] as an actor and a person?
CS: As an actor..It can be challenging sometimes because fans have an expectation, but I sort of had to let that go when I first got on the set. I had all these ideas where I wanted to go, but it’s good to have those limitations from the text, the script and the book because it gave me something to work with and I [didn't have to] search for a character .. I just wanted to make sure he had that tragic vibe to him; that tragic aura. As for me personally ..I’m pretty private in that I like maybe holding back and trying not to do so much press and just keeping my anonymity somewhat .. But I’ve decided to have fun with it, so I’m just going to ride this out and see where it goes.ULM: Do you think maybe you’ll return to independent film?
CS: From what I’ve seen , the cast is pretty level-headed — they’re all quite grateful of having this job because .. we’re all unknowns .. and all of a sudden , I don’t want to pat our own backs or anything, but we’ve been launched into the center of the attention of the world. I think everyone’s dealing with it in his own way. The whole cast is amazing. They’re all really humble and grateful and when it comes down to tabloids, you just don’t pay attention to it.
ULM: The Twilight series has helped bring Native American culture to the attention of a new generation. What are your thoughts on the way it’s portrayed in the film?
CS: Of course, it’s a movie and it’s Hollywood .. but what I like about it is that it put it on the map. Also, it’s made a whole new generation look at Native American actors in a different light; contemporary — very contemporary. It really puts a whole different spin on it .. and in the end it is a pretty big deal for Native American actors and Native culture. It’s opening a lot of doors for Native American actors and I really appreciate that.

IESB: Kirsten Prout pratar om ‘Eclipse’ och Lucy .
Q: How did you get involved with The Twilight Saga: Eclipse? Was it just a regular audition?I had just come off of two shows and, in between filming them, I had gone for Eclipse. I read for a different vampire, called Bree, who is a brunette with short, short hair that is 13 years old and completely not me, but I went for the audition just because it was a big project. I can tell you that I’ve never felt that level of nervousness in an audition room, in my whole career. I had read the books, but it hadn’t really sunk in what a huge phenomenon Twilight was. I went into it and it was an important audition, but I wasn’t really nervous. I was just focusing on my work, but a lot of people were just so stressed out. I went to the audition room, and then I heard back about the audition that I was wrong for the character, but they wanted me to come back for another vampire that was essentially the same size role and everything, except she had long blonde hair, was extremely pale and was older. So I went in, did one audition and a week later, I got a call and then showed up on set. It was pretty rapid. I only had one audition for it because I’d already auditioned for another character and they’d seen what I could do.
IESB: What can you say about your character in Eclipse? How does she fit into the story?
Kirsten: Without revealing too much, Lucy is one of the vampires that turns Jasper, played by Jackson Rathbone. Jasper gets turned while he is an officer, and I’m one of the vampires that causes Jasper to be turned during his military career. Lucy appears to be an innocent little victim, and then she turns into something a lot more sinister.
IESB: Is Lucy the darkest character you’ve ever played?
Kirsten: I’ve always been on the good side. I’ve never played a villain, in my entire career. I’m the girl next door, or the girl who helps out, or the girl that makes an innocent escape. For once, I got to look all innocent and have that angelic quality, and then, all of a sudden, turn into something really dark. That was fun for me. That was the first villain that I’ve ever played.

INTERVJU MED KIRSTEN PROUT
This June, Kirsten Prout will be in her most visible project to date, as vampire Lucy in the highly anticipated The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. In the third installment of the popular film franchise, her character is seen in flashbacks that give insight into the backstory of Jasper (Jackson Rathbone) and how he was created.
In this exclusive interview, the rising star talked to IESB about the experience of playing her darkest role yet, in such a high-profile film.
IESB: What initially drew you to acting? Since you were so young when you started, were you even aware of what you were doing?
Kirsten: When I was younger, I used to watch television and Disney movies, and that kind of thing, and it started out as just wanting to play characters and just a love of story. I had a very active imagination. I was making requests to my parents, not necessarily to get into film or television, but to play characters. And my mom, for a long time, understandably didn't want to expose her child to an industry with so much rejection. So for years, I would just keep asking and asking, and eventually I figured out that I could actually make a career of it and it was called being an actress.
Finally, when I was 10 years old, she let me go to my first audition because she thought I'd just get it out of my system. She thought I'd just go and nothing would happen, and I'd just give up on it. So, I went to auditions and I actually started doing well. It was something that I really loved to do. As soon as I started working on television, in shows and playing characters, I just knew that's what I had to do. I was never a commercial kid. I told my mother and my agent, when I was 11 years old and so pretentious, "Yeah, I think I'm going to pass on doing commercials." I was always just in it because I love storytelling and I love getting into the mind-set of different characters. It just snowballed from there.
IESB: Was there something specific that made you realize acting could be a career?
Kirsten: I knew that I wanted to be a Disney princess, or experiencing the life of someone on a television show that I loved. I just realized that actors are the people that did that, and therefore I should become an actor to do it. I was pretty young when I decided that it was what I wanted to do and that it's what I love.
Q: How did you get involved with The Twilight Saga: Eclipse? Was it just a regular audition?
Kirsten: Yeah, it was just a regular audition. I had just come off of two films, and it was after Kyle XY, which was a television show I worked on for three years. I had been working on it for so long and, before that, I hadn't taken a real break because I had been working steadily since I was 10 years old. So, at the end of Kyle XY, which also happen to coincide with the end of my high school career, I decided to go off to University and leave the industry. I went for a year to McGill University and I majored in English literature, and I took all my advanced classes that I prepared for in high school, and I had a great time there. I got straight A's and was on the honor roll. But then, when I came back to Vancouver during the summer, I went for an audition because it was what I was used to doing, and I booked it. And then, I booked something right after that was a mini-series that would shoot into the school year. So, at that point, I decided to put off going back to University.
I had just come off of two shows and, in between filming them, I had gone for Eclipse. I read for a different vampire, called Bree, who is a brunette with short, short hair that is 13 years old and completely not me, but I went for the audition just because it was a big project. I can tell you that I've never felt that level of nervousness in an audition room, in my whole career. I had read the books, but it hadn't really sunk in what a huge phenomenon Twilight was. I went into it and it was an important audition, but I wasn't really nervous. I was just focusing on my work, but a lot of people were just so stressed out. So I went in, did one audition and a week later, I got a call and then showed up on set. It was pretty rapid. I only had one audition for it because I'd already auditioned for another character and they'd seen what I could do.
IESB: Had you seen Twilight before auditioning?
Kirsten: Yeah, I had. I was very familiar with the franchise, just because my younger sister was reading the books. I was curious about what she was reading because she was just going through them like nothing. I was like, "What is that?" And she said, "It's Twilight. It's a vampire romance." And I was like, "Oh, that sounds kind of cool." I started reading it and I just shot through it. It was very readable stuff. And I'd seen the movie because everyone's seen it.
IESB: What can you say about your character in Eclipse? How does she fit into the story?
Kirsten: Without revealing too much, Lucy is one of the vampires that turns Jasper, played by Jackson Rathbone. Jasper gets turned while he is an officer, and I'm one of the vampires that causes Jasper to be turned during his military career. Lucy appears to be an innocent little victim, and then she turns into something a lot more sinister.
IESB: Is Lucy the darkest character you've ever played?
Kirsten: I've always been on the good side. I've never played a villain, in my entire career. I'm the girl next door, or the girl who helps out, or the girl that makes an innocent escape. For once, I got to look all innocent and have that angelic quality, and then, all of a sudden, turn into something really dark. That was fun for me. That was the first villain that I've ever played.
IESB: Did you do anything to get to know Jackson before filming, or did you just click right away?
Kirsten: We actually got along really well. We met in the make-up trailer, during the make-up testing, before filming even started. When I first got the part, they had to figure out whether they had to airbrush you, which in my case they didn't really because I'm already pale enough. But, they take a look at you, and design your hair and the hair pieces you're going to wear, and all that. So, I met Jackson when he was getting his hair done. He was getting his hair dyed by the on-set stylist, and he was getting weird patterns shaved into it underneath, which was kind of funny.
IESB: Playing a vampire, were you at all disappointed that you weren't going to get to wear fangs?
Kirsten: When I was reading the books, I was very surprised that there weren't fangs. The vampires in the Twilight Saga don't have fangs. We sparkle. No, I wasn't disappointed. The thing is, a lot of the actors that have been hired have very nice teeth that are very noticeable. They've picked people with teeth that stand out. It's more threatening. You notice that there's something different about that person's teeth, but it's not fangs. It's not obvious. You don't know you're going to get bitten. I was not disappointed. When someone tells you you're going to be a vampire in Twilight, the reaction is not disappointment. I've had to deal with prosthetic teeth and it's not fun.
IESB: How secretive were they with you, when you were auditioning? Did you get to read actual scenes?
Kirsten: No. The technique that they used for the audition was that they made the scenes exact transcripts from the book. It was very strange to audition with them because they were written to be read and they weren't adapted yet. They didn't give the screenplay out. So, the audition side was just reading a page of Twilight and reading the lines that were interspersed between the descriptions. That's what it was like. They could never distribute that. Even when I got the job, the secrecy was so high in the Twilight world.
IESB: While you were shooting, did you have any experiences with the paparazzi?
Kirsten: Oh, yeah. The first day that Jackson came into work, he almost tripped on the stairs, coming out of his house, because there were so many photographers that he couldn't even see. The circus around all the trailers and everything was crazy. They had giant black dividers to keep paparazzi out. On the first day, they took down all the signage and blocked everything out. All the actors had to wear bathrobes to cover their wardrobe in between scenes. It was really intense.
I was born and raised in Vancouver, and I've done a lot of film work in Vancouver. I worked with Jennifer Garner on Elektra and there was a lot of paparazzi on that as well. But, Vancouver has changed a lot since Twilight. It's changed the whole media culture there. We didn't used to have paparazzi. You'd get five, tops. And then, on Twilight, all of a sudden it was like, "Where did all these photographers come from?" They were hiding everywhere. There were hundreds, just waiting. It's part of the whole phenomenon of Twilight. You have to just take it as it comes because it's just nuts.
IESB: How was David Slade, as a director? Had you been familiar with any of his previous work?
Kirsten: Yeah, I had. He's a great guy because his way of working is so open. He just says, "Do what you do," and lets you play with it. If he has notes, he gives them to you, but he's a very open director. He keeps it light. He loves his job and he's very serious about it. He's a great director.
IESB: What is Seven Deadly Sins and who do you play in that?
Kirsten: I play a character named Miranda. It's a cool concept because each character, and there's seven main character, all have a sin. It's a story that revolves around the sin that we perpetrate and how it changes the plot. It starts off with a very basic high school group of friends, but it slowly unravels. Through envy, sloth and all the sins, it slowly turns into this situation which is very high drama.
It was good to work on a drama and have some gritty material. My sin was envy. My character starts out as a good girl and, throughout the movie, because she's envious, she becomes harder and harder and more deceitful. By the end of the film, she's completely different and she's definitely learned a lesson. I really enjoyed working on that. The actors were just phenomenal. We had a great time together. We filmed in Victoria and all stayed in the same hotel. It was like staying in a sorority and a frat house combined.
IESB: Are you personally more like Miranda in Seven Deadly Sins, or are you more like Amanda from Kyle XY?
Kirsten: Amanda was very sweet and docile, and she didn't have that kick or bite to her. I think I'm more like Miranda because she has a bit of an edge to her and she stands up for herself. She's got more of a strength. I think I'm more like Miranda. I can kick butt when I have to.
IESB: Do you enjoy working in these types of ensembles? As an actor, is that something that you feel helps you learn from the other actors?
Kirsten: Oh, yeah. Also, because I grew up in the film industry, I've been working with people who are older than me, my whole life. Even on Kyle XY, everyone else was hired to be a 17-year-old, and I wasn't even 17 yet. I got hired when I was 14, so I was playing 17 when I was 14. I've always been around people that are older. So when I see a cast, and I'm at that age where I'm around people who are my peers, it's very exciting for me to come onto a set and have that bonding opportunity.
Working with the cast of Twilight, that's so young, and also working with the cast of Seven Deadly Sins, with a lot of up and coming actors who are very seasoned, we're able to learn from each other and everyone understands what you're going through. Everyone is going through the same thing. So, it's great. I look forward to doing it more.
IESB: When you work on projects that are based on novels, like with the Twilight Saga and Seven Deadly Sins, do you like to use that source material, or do you prefer to just stick with what is in the script?
Kirsten: With Twilight, the plot is basically just rearranged to fit a film. I had to read the books because it's so similar and I wanted to get all the subtext of what's been written to learn what the characters were thinking. In the script, you don't get that. In a book, you have someone tell you what everyone's thinking. That was an important tool for me to use. It's far more similar than other projects that I've worked on that have adapted books into screenplays.
Whereas with Seven Deadly Sins, it was a concept that was based on the book, but it's entirely different. The plot is completely different than the books. And, my character is supposed to have a huge nose, be a redhead and be super-gawky. She never makes a transformation into something sexier, which my character does, by the end of the film. She's the dork of the entire story. If I had read the books before auditioning, I would have totally had a different way of going into the audition room. But, I was told that, because the concept was taken from the books, but it was so different, that I shouldn't even read them. So going into it, I prepared for the role without reading about the other characters. Of course, I read the books after I had the part and I read the script and understood the concept, just to get a taste for it and to get into the author's mind. I just read it for fun. Honestly, it was so different. Some of the characters are similar, but my character was completely taken out and changed to fit the new plot
IESB: What was the experience of making Meteor Storm like?
Kirsten: It's about the end of the world. To be honest, I had just come out of University and I was looking for something that I had never done before, that was so nuts and crazy. I just wanted to get back into the industry, get back on a set and just do something that was completely different. I read Meteor Storm and it was just fun. It will have a cult audience of people who are into apocalyptic films. It was so much fun to film. I love the two actors that I worked with, Brett Dier and Travis Nelson. They were my age, and we had a great time making the film. But, that said, what I do enjoy more are character studies, more like Seven Deadly Sins or Eclipse, where I can actually get into a stylized character.
IESB: Who do you play in Meteor Storm?
Kirsten: She's just the average teenage girl. The film is about a completely average, normal American family has to cope with an extremely crazy situation. For me, it was just about taking it and stripping it down to the basics. It was about wondering, "How would a normal person naturally react to something that's so unbelievable?" That was a good exercise for me.
IESB: When you make a movie with that type of subject matter, do you try not to think about the reality of something like that ever happening?
Kirsten: I don't really think about the world being destroyed. Sometimes it's fun, just in the creative process. I was in a scene where things were blowing up, and I stopped to think, "If this actually happened in my everyday life, what would my reaction be?" It's very easy, as an actor, to just go, "Oh, my God!," and scream. But, it's the actors that pause and take the time to give that look like, "What the hell is happening!?," that seem more real. That was fun for me to play with.
IESB: Would you consider doing another television series?
Kirsten: Yeah, totally. The thing with my career is that I've never said, "I'm only going to do this. I'm only going to do that." For me, seeing material that I like is the most important part. I look for something that I'm passionate about. If a television series came my way and I read the script and loved it, I would totally do another television series. But, if I read a feature film and I absolutely adored it, I would go for that as well. It's about the character, the story and what I connect with. And, it's about where I am in my career, at that point.
IESB: Where would you like to see your career go next?
Kirsten: I love dramatic roles. I love situational comedy with a darker sense of humor. I love playing those characters that are going through a struggle or something darker. I watched The Road recently, and I'm not saying that I would want something as dark as that, but that was something that showed me how these small choices that you can make, with such high stakes and such drama, that would be the ultimate challenge, as an actor. So, I'd love to do something darker. I've been reading some scripts that are not as bright as Little Miss Sunshine, but they're around that area. It's that humor and that everyday struggle and those weird events that just make you laugh, but are serious, at the same time. I'd love to do something that I could just explore a little more, that's a little more dramatic.
LISBETH - KRISTEN RYKTERNA ÄR FALSKA
Should we have added another movie to yesterday’s Kristen Stewart upcoming roles poll?
A lot of online speculation this week has the “Twilight” star set to assume the part of hacker Lisbeth Salander in a remake of the popular Swedish series “Millenium.” Rumors were picked up and (wondered about) everywhere, with Stewart supposedly “listed” for the role and considered Sony’s “only option” for Salander, despite interest from Natalie Portman and Ellen Page.
Stewart’s fans, though, shouldn’t get too excited about “Millenium,” at least not yet.
Asked whether Stewart was attached to the movie, a source close to the actress told us, “I believe that’s not true.”
_________________________________________________INTERVJU MED ROBERT PATTINSON
He’s one of the most famous actors of the moment and a sexy subject for tabloids. He’s an experienced model and talented musician, one of his songs being found on the soundtrack of “Twilight”. At the moment, Robert Pattinson is shooting two movies: the third part of the “Twilight” series, “Eclipse” and “Remember Me”, with Pierce Brosnan.
“Women are wearing me out”
The man with a magical gaze is and remains the hottest vampire of Hollywood. Robert Pattinson (23) talked to the editor of JOY, Frances Schoenberger, about his new movie “Twilight”, his partner Kristen Stewart and his hidden joys.
From a sideways entrance, Robert Pattinson is creeping in the “Four Seasons” hotel in Beverly Hills and greets me with a timid “Hello”. He’s sporting a checked shirt, a black leather jacket and a three days old beard: the 1,85 m (6′1″ tall) Brit looks more like a nonchalant Bohemian rather than the hottest superstar of the moment. But I notice at once he doesn’t like to be in the center of attention at all: his gaze is always down. However, this exact image of uncertainty, this fragility makes his more charismatic.
JOY: Last year, when we talked to you for the first time, you were still a newcomer. Now, although you became very successful, you don’t seem to have changed at all. You seem to always be down to earth and you are not afraid to attend an interview, without a companion. Don’t you like agitation?
Robert Pattinson: I become nervous every time too many people are around me. I don’t think I need either assistants or a PR consultant. The more people are around you, the more you are told what to do, and I hate this thing. Often I don’t pay attention to the other’s opinions (laughs). Though I should start paying more attention and not be so self-deprecating in interviews, because I risk to destroy myself. I don’t want my fans to say: “Yes, he really is an idiot!” (laughs).
JOY: “Twilight” carried you on the top of Hollywood’s Olympus. How did stardom change your day to day life you gained through a lot of work?
Robert Pattinson: Most of the time I don’t realize I am a star because, ever since I had success, I’ve been working constantly. After “Twilight” I immediately started shooting “New Moon”, and in the meantime, I’m already working at the third part of this vampire saga, “Eclipse”. On set, it doesn’t really matter to anyone I am a celebrity. I wake up at five in the morning and, when I get home at night, feeling exhausted, I just want to go to bed.
JOY: What don’t you like about being a celebrity?
Robert Pattinson: It’s really bizarre how the press jumps at me and wants to write so much about me. This means I can barely go outside by myself anymore – suddenly I have to hide or make up some tricky diversions. Sure, I don’t mind it when people approach me on the street, but, when it comes to a bunch of hysterical teenagers that jump at me, I’m quite worn out.
JOY: Dakota Fanning, the one in “New Moon” who plays the role of a diabolical female vampire, explains the fascination of fans this way: “Edward is the ideal man, he looks good and his hair is great.” What do you think of this?
Robert Pattinson: If it’s all about being attractive and having the right haircut, then these conditions are quite simple. I don’t know if I can achieve them (laughs).
JOY: What makes you different from Edward?
Robert Pattinson: I sometimes have a bad hair day too (laughs).
JOY: How was it to shoot again with Kristen Stewart? Is your relationship is closer since “New Moon” or nothing has changed in this matter?
Robert Pattinson: I love standing in the front of the camera with someone I like so much. In “Twilight” she was an extraordinary partner. Her performance depends on how credible is Edward and the other way around. We complete each other.
JOY: It is easy for you to fall in love or you aren’t the type to lose yourself at first sight?
Robert Pattinson: Of course we spend a lot of time together – but that doesn’t mean I fall in love with every movie partner. It seems that after the movie “Little Ashes”, in which I portrait Salvador Dali, I had an adventure with Javier Beltran (laughs).
JOY: Admirers of this vampire saga appreciate the forbidden love between Edward and Bella. Is there also a part in which men can identify with?
Robert Pattinson: “New Moon” has, from my point of view, out of all four parts, the most interesting twist: because Edward is so in love with Bella, the idea that he isn’t good enough for her torments him. Because of this he detroys the relationship. I think any man can find himself in such a situation, because we are confused enough when we are in love too.
JOY: What thinks your family in England of this success of the “Twilight” series?
Robert Pattinson: I don’t think they realize exactly what’s happening. Lately my mother called to tell me she likes the shirt I wore in a photograph. Happily, until now my parents have been left alone by the paparazzi. They are simply extraordinary people and this would a much too boring story. When my sister visited me recently in L.A., she was shocked to see how many newspapers have pictures of me.
JOY: When was the last time you’ve been home?
Robert Pattinson: About a year ago, when I had, finally, three free days. Then I’ve seen my parents at the “New Moon” premiere in November. But we certainly want to spend Christmas together!
JOY: In London you performed with the band “Bad Girls”. Will you do something like this in the future?
Robert Pattinson: I’m still writing songs and, if I’ll have time, I may go on stage again. Before it used to be a small hobby, but now probably everyone will listen and criticize me. I’m afraid of this!
JOY: What’s your future project?
Robert Pattinson: In 2010 I’ll shoot in New Mexico with Hugh Jackman the western “Unbound Captives”. This role is very different to Edward’s, they can’t be compared. My father is delighted of my new project, because he adores horse riding. With vampires it’s something more complicated, so I’m sure he prefers this variant (laughs).

INTERVJU MED ALEX MERAZ
Alex Meraz’s top priority for visiting his “New Moon' co-star Taylor Lautner’s hometown?
“I definitely drank some of the water,” the actor said before he signed autographs and snapped photos with approximately 1,000 “Twilight” fans before Saturday’s Griffins game. “I want to pop a couple more abs (like Lautner).”
A virtual unknown before inhabiting the role of werewolf Paul, Meraz was friendly and smiling as he greeted smitten fans. Among those thrilled: a pack of teen girls from Forest Hills Central High School, who had won tickets to the game and the chance to meet Meraz at a VIP autograph session before the general signing event organized by the clothing store Platos Closet.
Starry-eyed after meeting Meraz, they were iffy on whether their allegiance had shifted from “Team Jacob” (fans of Lautner’s character, Jacob Black, and by association his werewolf pack), and “Team Edward” (fans of Robert Pattinson’s character, Edward Cullen).
“If it were Team (Alex Meraz), then yes, I would have switched,” said Madeline Martin, 17. Her pals Skylar Grant and Hilary Spruit, both 17, concurred. “I’m on ‘Team No Shirt,’” joked Grant.
Teenage girls were not the only demographic represented in the line to meet Meraz. Sara Heacox, 32, of Grand Haven was sporting a “Twilight Moms” tee shirt over her pregnant belly. Heacox is the book-of-the-month moderator for Twilightmoms.com, and recently met author Stephenie Meyer when she appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show."
“Those of us in ‘Twilight Moms’ tend to follow the actors in the movies, and (Meraz) is one of my favorites,” she said. “He paints and reads. He recently Tweeted that he was reading “Water for Elephants” (by Sara Gruen). I was impressed.”
Meraz, wearing a thin sweater and “weak little jacket,” admitted he was “underdressed” for Michigan’s bluster. His werewolf character, Paul, would never be caught under-prepared for the elements; after all, he can shapeshift into a snarling, furry monster at will.
“(Paul) is unapologetic about what and who he is and his role as a protector,” Meraz said.
The 24-year-old father of one promises that “Eclipse,” the third movie in the “Twilight Saga” franchise, will find Paul “hairier and scarier. The werewolves team up with the Cullens, and it’s a whole bigger thing.”
With his career launched into orbit by the extraordinary success of “New Moon,” the Arizona native is in talks with film producers to appear in more movies. Unless lightening strikes twice, though, Meraz may never be a part of a worldwide pop culture phenomenon like the one he’s in the middle of right now.
“(The Twilight Saga) is a love story, yes,” he said, attempting to explain the appeal of the books and movies that have captivated so many. “But more so, in this day and age, of war and financial crises, people want to go to a place of fantasy.”

10 TWILIGHT SAKER ATT SE FRAM EMOT
- The Twilight Saga: Eclipse trailer
This is, right now, one of the most immediately anticipated moments in the Twilight fandom. We've already seen one still from the film (showing Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in the meadow), the title art, and the first promotional poster for the film. Yet, only six months out from the film's release, there's not much about Eclipse (aside from the devoted Twittering from director David Slade) that has been seen. There's been a bit of speculation about when and where the first trailer will debut, but even Slade himself has stated that he doesn't know. If the first trailer for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is anything like the one for The Twilight Saga: New Moon, though, it'll be a monumental occasion . . . Can't wait to see those reaction videos!
- The Twilight Saga: New Moon DVD and deleted scenes/commentary
Sometime this spring, the DVD for The Twilight Saga: New Moon will be released. Last year, when Twilight's DVD was released, there were DVD release parties across the country, including showings from cast members and the director at the various venues of celebration. Perhaps the New Moon DVD will receive the same treatment. Regardless, the release will be a moment of fun for Twilight fans, and two of the things that the DVD will bring - aside from the actual movie, that is - are deleted scenes and commentary. In the Official Companion for New Moon, there was at least one image from what appears to be a deleted scene (this one, showing Robert Pattinson and Ashley Greene outside of the Swan home). There are two others we've discussed here as well. According to director Chris Weitz, there'll be about twenty minutes of deleted scenes. Usually, in addition to deleted scenes, a film DVD offers a special commentary option with the director and, potentially, castmates from the movie. ForTwilight, the DVD commentary came from Catherine Hardwicke, Robert Pattinson, and Kristen Stewart. In the commentary, the three had the opportunity to reflect on filming and their opinions on certain scenes as they watched. While New Moon has already been discussed (extremely thoroughly) by all parties involved, it'd still be fun to hear their reactions to the film as it progresses on-screen!
- Remember Me, Valentine's Day, The Runaways, and other films by the cast
The Twilight fandom is a devoted bunch. Becoming fans of the cast for the films is practically part and parcel of being a fan of the series. This is especially true when it comes to the "Big Three" (Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner). So, to see their work outside of the saga come to fruition will be fun and pertinent to a lot of the fans.
In Robert Pattinson's case, his spring release film Remember Me (which debuts on March 12, 2010) will probably be a must-see for Twilightfans and fans of the actor. The film tells the story of a young man enduring and overcoming a family hardship in the Big City. He is joined in the film by Lost star Emilie de Ravin, Pierce Brosnan, and Chris Cooper. The release ofRemember Me will certainly be a great moment for Twilight fans in 2010.
Along the same vein of the Remember Merelease, Taylor Lautner's spring film Valentine's Day (though does not lead the unbelievable cast for the picture) will also hit home for Twilight fans and fans of the actor. Lautner's immediate co-star and on-screen love interest in the movie is Taylor Swift, and the first promotional trailer for the film that stars the two was only recently seen. Valentine's Day will be released on February 12, 2010, and it'll definitely make the cut as a moment for Twilight fans in 2010.
Kristen Stewart, too, has an important film that'll make its way to theaters in 2010. The Runaways, which also stars her New Moon and Eclipse co-star Dakota Fanning, will be released sometime in 2010. It tells the story of the all-girl band "The Runaways," and Stewart stars as Joan Jett, who was very involved in the filmmaking process. Stewart's Welcome To The Rileys will be hitting theaters in 2010, too (after it, along with The Runaways, makes a stay at Sundance).
In addition to these films, the Twilight cast'll have many, many pictures being released in 2010. A full list is available here.
- Eclipse soundtrack, artists, and contenders
If the formulation of the soundtrack for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is met with the same widespread interest by artists as New Moon's was, it'll be a long stretch of would-be contributors over the next few months. Already, artists like the band Muse have been putting forth their intentions of becoming a part of the Eclipse soundtrack (though Muse is a shoe-in for a great many reasons, you well know). Another probable contributor for the Eclipse soundtrack is The Killers, who appeared on the New Moonsoundtrack and who David Slade has done a music video for (in conjunction with UNICEF). From his tweets, one might also speculate that the band Dead Weather might be a strong contender for the album, considering he raved about the band's video and tweeted pictures of one of their concerts that he attended during the film process. In any case, chances are that there'll be a push by some bands and singers who want to be a part of the Eclipse soundtrack (especially after the grand reception that the New Moon soundtrack received), and, in turn, there'll also be some fan speculation about what artists should or will make it onto the album. Soon after, a full list of contributors will be announced - as well as a composer for the film's score. The Eclipse soundtrack, then, will certainly be a memorable point in time for 2010.
- The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn announcement
Sometime in 2010, one hopes, the official announcement that The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn is greenlit will be released. At this point, fans have no doubt that the film will be made, but whatever the hold-up may be, it hasn't happened yet. Of course, it's probably just a matter of time . . . At any rate, the day that the official announcement comes will be a fantastic one for fans of the Twilight series. Until then, we wait with bated breath . . . and speculate whether it'll be one or two films.
- The Twilight Saga: Eclipse premiere
This June, shortly prior to the theatrical debut ofThe Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the film's cast, producers, and director will make their way to Hollywood (the likeliest venue) to celebrate the worldwide premiere of the movie. Chances are, there'll have been a press day, a ton of cast interviews, and some very global travelling before the day of the premiere, but the premiere is something special. Presumably, it'll be broadcast in the same (though hopefully with a more well-received commentator) way that New Moon's was. For New Moon's premiere, fanscamped out for days to earn their rightful spots on the red carpet. No doubt those same devoted groups will be making their way to the streets of Hollywood once more once Eclipse's premiere rolls around.
- The Twilight Saga: Eclipse release
Whether you'll see it in IMAX theaters or not,The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is coming . . . hard and fast. Set for a June 30th release in the United States, the film approaches steadily. Once the premiere for the movie is over, the film will make its way to theaters, and between the midnight showings and opening weekend, all signs point to a huge debut for Eclipse. By the time the film does come to the big screen, there'll have been a great deal of mounting anticipation for fans of the saga (including speculation about which scenes should be in the movie, which quotes will make the cut, what scenes certain still images from the movie represent, etc.), and Eclipse opening will be one of - by far - the most memorable moments in 2010.
- The Host movie
No doubt the announcement that The Host would be made into a movie was a huge occasion forStephenie Meyer's fans. Back in April, when the idea of The Host as a movie was discussed, fans were very enthusiastic about the idea that the book has movie potential, so the fact that Meyer has agreed to bringing the story to film has been very exciting. In 2010, progress on the film should be seen in some form or another - whether it be scripting, casting, or actual filming. The Host, which is Stephenie Meyer's first non-Twilight saga novel (and first adult science fiction/fantasy novel), is the first of a proposed three-part series, and when Stephenie Meyer appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, she discussed the possiblity of continuing her writing on that series. So, in addition to watching The Host come to cinematic fruition, perhaps there will be more progress on the book front with this series. All this should prove to be a very exciting piece of 2010 for Twilight fans.
- The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn casting
Once the official announcement for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn's production is out, there'll definitely be some casting moments worth noting in 2010. While the film is not officially being cast right now, there may be an open casting call (but you'll need to hear this from a verified source, of course). Even if not, there are a ton of roles that'll be cast in Breaking Dawn. In the story, there are many new characters, including several which are pivotal to the story's events and progression. So, it'll be interesting to see which new faces join the Twilight cast . . . and how (and whether) fans couple those faces with the characters they purport to portray.
- The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn filming
This is sheer speculation, of course, but it could turn out that Breaking Dawn is filmed in 2010. All rumors and signs point to that possiblity, so, if so, it'll be yet another occasion of looking into the fishbowl for Twilight fans as Breaking Dawn (be it part one, or part all) goes into filming this year. Depending on the director, location, and devotion of fans, the experience could be complete and totally involved as it was with New Moon, or it could be a bit shut-off and elusive as it was with Eclipse.
So, any of these you're most looking forward to? Anything not on the list that you think will be a significant time for Twilight fans in 2010? Comment below and let us know! Should be an exciting year.

ROB ÄR HYGIENISK
Sure, he looks foul-smelling, but would you believe Twilight star Robert Pattinson is really “incredibly hygienic”? So hygienic, in fact, that he’s a threat to himself and his teeth? It’s true, claims his Eclipse co-star Bryce Dallas Howard! When we ran into her at the recent New York premiere of her new movie, the Tennessee Williams–scripted The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond (out today), she told us about her first brush with Rob: “I actually came out to him that I was totally nervous about [meeting him],” said Howard, who will replace Rachelle Lafevre as evil vampire Victoria in next year’s Twilight 3.
“He’s such a sweet young man, and there’s such a distinctive difference between him and Edward Cullen. He does such a wonderful job embodying that character, and bringing that character to life. But when you meet him, he’s such a down-to-earth, humble person, you feel bad freaking out around him.”
“But what does he smell like?” we inquired. “Actually, he’s incredibly hygienic,” Howard insisted. “He told me this story that made me crack up. He was like, ‘Oh, I have to go to the dentist.’ And I was like, ‘Oh no, what happened? Just a check-up?’ And he was like, ‘No, I chipped a tooth.’ And I was like, ‘How?’ And he was like, ‘Flossing.’ Who does that? I don’t even floss. So he’s hygienic. Trust me.”
